During
the design stage Otoloift did everything possible to make the chair
and rail as compact as possible.
The
rail tubes are slim and mount very close to the wall and the lift
body is compact and comfortable, leaving plenty of room for other
staircase users.
Because
the tubes are slim it is possible to negotiate very tight bends
without encroaching on the rest of the staircase. Also as the seat
angle is controlled by the distance separating the tubes there is no
complicated electronic levelling system, thus keeping cost to a
minimum.
There
are several clever options available including powered swivel and
although the manual footrest has a lever to operate, it is also
available with a motorised power version for added convenience.
There
is also a choice of two types of rail ends if you have restricted
space at the bottom of the stairs, there is a folding section or a
sliding extension depending on the amount of space available or
personal preference.
There
is a choice of ten upholstery options/colours and three rail colours.
If
you are unable to bend your knees there is the option of the stand &
perch chair and if you have put on a bit of weight over the years
there is also a heavy duty model that takes up to 165kg (26 stone).
